Description
Virginia Eye Institute is a State-of-the-Art Ambulatory Surgery Center and a Regional Center of Excellence for Ophthalmic care, located in Richmond Virginia. VEI offers exceptional comprehensive care including cataract, corneal, glaucoma, retina, ocular plastics, pediatrics, refractive, and strabismus surgery.
CRNAs will be cross-credentialed at Henrico Doctors Hospital, but primary site will be VEI. Option to cross-credential at other NAPA sites in Richmond is available if interested.

Cataract, corneal, glaucoma, retina, ocular plastics, pediatrics, refractive, and strabismus surgery.
Shifts
4×10-hour shifts Monday – Thursday. No Fridays, Weekends, Call, or Holidays!

Team Highlights
A close knit, family-oriented, supportive team approach, with very experienced staff members, five operating rooms and two procedural rooms. CRNA's practice with a lot of autonomy, within a care team model (Supervision), in a very collegial relationship with staff, Ophthalmologists, and Anesthesiologists. The CRNA's provide comprehensive care including doing their own Peri-Orbital Blocks (Block training provided), MAC, General Adult and Pediatric Anesthesia. Pediatrics is not required.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discusses anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
- Current license as a registered professional nurse
- Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
- Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
