Description
Our practice is based in the Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center, a 678-bed level II trauma center, which serves as a tertiary care center for seven counties in southeastern coastal North Carolina.
We provide anesthesia services to multiple locations across the Cape Fear region, including Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center Orthopedic Hospital, Novant Health Scotts Hill Outpatient Surgery Center, Novant Pender Memorial Hospital, Dosher Hospital (Southport), Brunswick Emerge Surgery Center, Wilmington Health Surgery Center and various office-based settings.

Our practice has built a stable team of board-certified, career-committed anesthesiologists. Many of our physicians have fellowship training in cardiovascular, pain management, regional, and pediatric anesthesiology.
We have 12 members of the heart team, 4 fellowship trained. We have just begun an LVAD program and have a structural heart program (TAVR's, Mitral clips, etc.).
Work in a collegial setting with a devoted team of physicians dedicated to patient care and safety.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures – including invasive monitoring, peripheral nerve blocks, spinals/epidurals
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
- Near 100% CRNA supervision
Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- ECFMG and FLEX
- TEE proficiency is required
- Completion of Cardiac Fellowship
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Currently licensed as a physician
