Leadership
Jonathon Hester, Chief Anesthetist
My name is Jonathan Hester, and I currently serve as the chief anesthetist at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA. I was born and raised in Savannah and have practiced anesthesia with this group for eight years. After graduating from UGA in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering, I attended South University. I obtained a Master of Medical Science in Anesthesiology, becoming a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA).
I love working at St. Joseph's in Savannah because of our close-knit and dependable anesthetist team, the autonomy received, and the excellent working relationships with our anesthesiologists. Also, the variety of patients we see allows the ability to do cardiothoracic, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, and general, among others. We do not cover OB and are not a large trauma center. The variety of cases and flexibility in schedule allows you to hone your skills doing significant complex issues and not burden our team with having to take in-house calls.
