Night-float anesthesiologist opportunity with Stafford Hospital practicing 7:00 PM-7:00 AM; 7 nights on, 7 nights off; 26 weeks off/year
Description
Stafford Hospital in Stafford, VA, is part of the Mary Washington Healthcare system. The community hospital with 100 beds invests in our community's health with technological enhancements and expanded services for you and your family. Voted the best place to work in 2021. Hospital is located just off I95 at 140 exit.
The local practice also provides coverage to Mary Washington Hospital and one ambulatory surgery center.
Case Assignments
OB, general surgery, podiatry, ortho, endo, GYN, ENT. Occasional help with lines and intubations in the ICU. No neuro, hearts, thoracic, trauma, or pediatric in-patient cases.
Shifts
Night-float: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM; 7 nights on, 7 nights off; 26 weeks off/year. OR cases are usually done by 7:00 PM. CRNA in-house overnight with anesthesiologist Monday-Friday. CRNA in-house until 11:00 PM Saturday and Sunday, then home-call from 11:00 PM-7:00 AM.

Responsibilities

Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department

Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures

Pre-anesthesia assessment

Obtains and/or verifies patient consent

Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition

Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
-
M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- ECFMG and FLEX
-
Completion of approved residency in anesthesia

Currently licensed as a physician
